animals, including wild animals, intuitively recognize and welcome
Reiki's healing abilities. Reiki never causes stress or discomfort,
but helps heal at all levels of an animal's being and can be utilized
for any issue arising in animals.
For healthy animals, Reiki
treatments help maintain good health and give an animal a feeling of
well being. For ailing animals or recuperating animals, Reiki assists
the healing process at the deepest levels and is a safe complement to
conventional medicine. Reiki also helps reduce the side effects of
some treatments. Reiki can also be used to energize an older animal. For dying animals, Reiki is highly effective in
providing comfort, relieving pain, fear and anxiety - easing the
transition from this life. It provides support and aids grief for the
animal's human caregiver as well.
Since Reiki can be sent from a distance, this technique sometimes will be used on skittish or aggressive animals without distressing them or risking injury to them, their human companion or the Practitioner.
Treatments for animals do not last as long as treatments for humans; animals absorb Reiki energy easier and quicker than people do. Many times the animal will not sit still for an entire session; they will wander off and return again to the Practitioner for more healing.
The sessions for animals are best conducted in familiar surroundings. I make house calls or clinic visits (providing the Veterinarian has given permission).
